About

I’m Joseph Michael Wall, a 23-year-old Alternative Country artist from Keachi, Louisiana.

A little about me: I grew up in Keachi, Louisiana. I have a mix of muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy, and I am a Christian. I’m certainly not perfect, and I’ve done a lot of things in my past that I’m not proud of, but I strive to be better. As my grandpa would say, I’m “under construction.”

I would say my sound blends influences from Red Dirt, outlaw country, and folk roots, with a tinge of grunge and sludge doom, and at times, psychedelic elements. My lyrics are inspired by my faith in Christ, mental health struggles, addiction, love, life, and death. I play guitar, bass, banjo, and keyboards, and I program string sections, synthesizers, and drums.

Some of my favorite artists include Townes Van Zandt, Treaty Oak Revival, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Hank Williams Sr., Blaze Foley, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Hank Williams III, Colter Wall, Kyuss, Alice in Chains, Acid Bath, Crowbar, Down, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Koe Wetzel, Wyatt Flores, Ole 60, IV and the Strange Band, and many more.

Music started as a way for me to keep a personal journal. The reason I got into music in the first place was that I couldn’t play sports, video games got boring after a while, and I always enjoyed writing poetry and drawing—so a creative lane felt right for me.

I want my career to be more than just my music. Eventually, I want to build a recording studio to produce other artists, and I would also love to create some kind of independent music, poetry, film, and art festival one day.

I’m currently writing the first album Somewhere Past The Line, more info to come.
